Spicy Pork Jowl

Ingredients

  • 2 lb - Pork Jowl, cubed
  • 1 tbsp - Ginger, grated
  • 1 Clove garlic, minced
  • 1 ½ tbsp - Sesame oil
  • ¾ cup - Pineapple sauce
  • ¾ cup - Honey
  • 1 ½ cup - Cayenne hot sauce
  • ½ cup - Water

Preparation

  1. Preheat your grill for medium heat;
  2. Cut the pork jowl into cubes of 1½ to 2 inches thick then place in a contained; Mix all of the remaining ingredients except the water together and pour over the cubed pork; Marinate for 3 hours in the refrigerator;
  3. Thread the pork cubes onto flat skewers and set aside for the grill;
  4. Spicy pork sauce: In a saucepan, mix the remaining marinade with ½ cup of water and bring to a boil for 10 minutes;
  5. Place the skewers on the grill grate and cook for about 8 minutes per side; brush the brochettes with the spicy pork sauce 2 to 3 minutes before they are done.
